Team Goal

Thoughtfully sourcing, sorting, and curating the pre-vetted Net Good products from eco-brands and retailers, including Lifestyle, Home Decor, Beauty, and Skincare categories based on the brand's aesthetics.

 

Supporting website designers/product managers with the product online operation. (Skills: E-Commerce site development and creative inputs of product information on the marketplace.)

 

Building the initial structure of the E-site for selected products, listing and displaying according to BetterWorld's aesthetics.

 

Fulfilling the team goal: 100 Corporations Contribute 70% of the World's Global Emissions. Together we can do better.

Buying & Merchandising Team

Sourcing, sorting and vetting eco products from potential brands or retailers who are highly focusing on sustainability.

Supported UpWorkers with optimizing vetting process, evaluating the future cooperators, and completed the Lead  Generation Process.

​

Completed the team KPI on the daily/weekly basis.

E-Commerce digital Merchandising Team

Product data entry: building product catalogues, inputting product details, and uploading to the website (converting to CSV files).

​

Curated the interface from headlines and web updates to complex visualizations to contents on the E-site based on the team's expectation and the brand's aesthetics.

​

Regular meetings: keep each team member on the same page for E-platform operations, product information, and partnerships status (Slack/ Google meet).

Buying & Merchandising Team

Based on the gut and visionary, and understanding of the company's mission, Sourcing, Sorting and Vetting potential brands and retailers that are perfect fits for Better World according to their brand value, brand images, and the commitments toward Sustainability is the main task in the buying and merchandising team.

Based on the cohesive and consistent style, eco/vegan products that brands and retailers present on their websites, I sourced those who are with the core of 80%+ involvements in sustainability, benchmarking them according to ingredients, aesthetics match, packaging, shipping methods, EOL plans, transparency, and philanthropy.

​

Closely coordinated with the product manager about the optimization of standard vetting process, to reach out to the most fitted brands/retailers for cooperations efficiently and effectively.

​

By setting up KPI on the daily basis, each vetter is expected to source, sort, and vet 40 brands / 60 retailers each day for the first month. This KPI goal is adjusted according to the outcome after execution.

An ideal brand for Better World to work with based on the interface aesthetics that the brand exudes, product categories, and the contents regarding Sustainability.

E-Commerce Merchandising Team

In E-Commerce Merchandising team, I mainly supported (SPOC) the web designer with product uploading, from building up product catalogues, data entry and converting data of approved products to the website (Shopify) for Sales Team to do Onboarding process.

Besides, I managed the website background and monitored the site development, including that each tab/sub tab is functioned well and links to the correct page, examining all contents in the way that the team expected, fixing image issues, and aligned all collections on the daily basis before launching up.

Tracking product and brand catalogues uploading progress on AirTable, Google Sheet, and Website on daily/weekly basis.

After product uploading process to the site is the sorting process. I created product collections by different categories. Besides, we also created brand/retailer collections in order to let site visitors filter and search for the specific products in an efficient way. At the same time, before launching I also checked the look of the product listing page and detail pages by previewing to ensure it displays perfectly on the site.

The product detail pages give wholesalers and retailers who work with Better World details with the product name, the brand it comes from, descriptions (especially the sustainable indexes, and MSRP. Also come with several images that brands and retailers provided. My tasks are keeping all information align with the product catalogues on AirTable and Google sheets the team are co-working on, and the adjustment of images to ensure they display appropriately after launch.​ (Skills: Product Management, assortment, AirTable, Google Workplace, Cross-functional Communication, and Adobe Photoshop)

This merchandising internship enhanced my hands-on experience in product management from sourcing, sorting, allocating, vetting, to E-Commerce related to digital merchandising. I coordinated with the product managers proactively about sourcing the brands/retailers, and the site development at the initial stage. This experience consolidates my interest and profession in product management ranging from skincare, apothecary, cosmetics, home decor, and household categories. Definitely paves the way for me toward the positions of Product Manager.
